Bottom Fish Bailed Us Out

Meat fishing was slow today, but with barely a trickle of current, we were able to get a nice catch of groupers and tilefish.

There was a pretty good sign of billfish, but if you were looking for fish to put in the cooler, things were hit or miss…at best. We took advantage of the slack current and did some deep dropping. We caught all the snowy groupers the law would allow, a hand ful of tiles, a couple of squirrelfish, and one yellowedge grouper, which looks like a snowy but has bright yellow tips on his fins. I had a couple of young fella’s along today on their first offshore adventure, and was hoping to find some dolphin for them, but they will have to wait till next time!
