We didn’t go out today, but I get get some better information from one of my dock partners who fished up to the east yesterday.
First of all, there were MILES of bluefins. Boats caught what they wanted, and had to pick up and run to get out of them…..only to set back out and get hit by them again! The other interesting thing was that everybody who fished below the bluefin fleet, and out a little deeper, had several yellowfin bites. I think the sea conditions were a little on the challenging side, but I was told that if it had been a little calmer, it would have been reasonable to expect a pretty good catch of yellowins in the 30 – 35 pound range. I’m ready!
