October 17 Hatteras Offshore Report

Today’s weather was super, after a couple of windy ones.

I fished on the southern end again, in hopes of catching a nice wahoo, or something that would put a good bend in a rod. We had some dolphin action right away, and managed to land three gaffers and a bailer. It was slow going after that. I suggested dropping to the bottom since the current wasn’t too strong, and we caught a variety of bottom fish over the course of an hour or so, but honestly, they didn’t bite too well either. Later in the afternoon we finally caught a wahoo and pulled off a couple of others. The blackfin fishing was pretty good back up the line today. Thanks Glenn!
