The Hatteras fishing report for today was GREAT again, but the weather could have stood some improvement!
Today I had Kelly, MIss Iris, Terry and Pop, also Dave and Pam joined the group for their first offshore experience. I warned them that it looked pretty rough, and suggested that it might not be the best "first trip". Well, needless to say, we shoved off and headed on offshore. The thunderstorms that lit up the island as I was getting dressed for work had pushed offshore, so it looked like we would have a break from the rain for a while. The winds were breezy out of the southwest, 20-25, so the ride offshore was slow. When we got where we were going, all you had to do was wet a line. The dolphin fishing was as good as it gets. We bailed a limit of dolphin in one stop, and headed back to the barn. Everybody was smiling and there will be mahi in Salisbury tomorrow! Martin, Dinah, NIcole, and ALL the rest of the clan…I missed you this year and hope to see you in November. Thanks again Kelly for two great days this week!
