Today’s ride offshore was slow and bouncy due to a southeast swell and a 20+ knot breeze from the east, but once we got offshore, the wahoo fishing was as good as I have ever seen it.
We were the only boat out today, so the radio was quiet, but the reels were screaming! Our batting average was poor due to the rough seas, but we managed to catch our limit (12) of wahoo, out of 35 bites in 3 1/2 hours. It was insane. Our biggest earned a citation at 45 pounds, and we had several in the mid to upper 30s. We had a couple of blackfin tuna to throw on the dock as well, and in the afternoon we looked around for some dolphin but the ones we found were pretty small. Thanks Jeff for a great day offshore!
