I had strict orders this morning to come up with a wahoo, so I headed south to take a look around.
Ok, maybe they weren’t "strict" orders, but it was a strong request. If you know me, you know that it doesn’t usually take much prodding to get me to head south. I just like fishing down there. Anyway, it looked like we were gonna kill the gaffer dolphin by the way things started out, but after a quick ten or twelve fish, things dried right up. I trolled to the northeast after hearing about great blackfin tuna fishing up that way, but that action had ended by the time we got there. We did manage to catch four and had several other bites, so it was worth going up there. We also had an unsuccessful sailfish encounter on a shortrigger. The coolest part was catching a wahoo, finally, as we were picking our lines up to head home! Mission accomplished. Thanks guys!
