Sunny Start, Rainy Ending

It was certainly one of the nicest days of the year, so far!

It was greasy slick calm for most of the day, but I did a pretty good job of steering around the fish. I started out trying for the blackfins, but they really never got going. After making a few laps and only catching two, I decided to work off in the deep and see if I could locate some dolphin habitat. Out to 200 fathoms and finding nothing, it sounded like I should probably stay back inshore and keep trying for the tunas. We had a few other blackfin bites that we missed, caught three gaffer dolphin and an albacore, but that was about it for us. A few of the boats got lucky with some dolphin action, and I did hear about a couple of wahoos around the fleet. Fortunately we were able to skirt around a thunderstorm on the way in. Thanks Paul, and I look forward to seeing you guys again!
