6/9 Hatteras Offshore Fishing Report

Today we were fortunate to be in the right place at the right time.

It was just what you would expect on a calm Saturday in June, lots and lots of boats. We were blessed to set out in a hungry school of dolphin and limit out right away. I had a marlin on my mind after that, so we trolled to the hundred and skipped baits for ten miles. We did have one small billfish encounter that I think was a sail, but we pulled him off. There was no current in the deep, so I decided to try for a grouper, since you are allowed to keep one. We had a lucky drop to the bottom and came up with a 30 pound snowy and two nice tiles! The weather was great, and as always, I had a fun trip with Connie and the gang. The southern report sounded like there was some great marlin action, so I am expecting a fun week coming up. Thanks guys and I’ll see you next year!
