The title of my report has nothing to do with my charter, but since dolphin fishing was slow, we took advantage of the great spanish mackerel fishing along the beach this afternoon!
The weather turned a little squally and breezy on us this morning, and the dolphin fishing was scrappy at best. I went out to the deep in hopes of finding some good dolphin conditions, but the grass was so scattered it was hard to fish AND no bites. We made a quick drop to the bottom and scored with a 25 pound snowy grouper and one tilefish before making the decision to jog back inshore. The spanish mackerels were biting great and we wound up with 70 in a little over two hours! Thanks Kelly, and we’ll keep our fingers crossed for Friday!
