7/13 Hatteras Offshore Fishing Report

The ocean was flat again today, and so was the fishing!

We trolled for a few hours without a bite, so in order to provide some action for the kids I had on board, and some fish for the cooler, we dropped to the bottom. The current was a little swifter than I would have liked, and most of the bass we caught were an inch or two too short to keep. We did wind up with a catch of sea bass though, and a few other miscellaneous bottom fish. We set back out for the last couple of hours, and did have two trolling bites. The first was a nice sailfish for James, in the pouring down rain! The second fish came off, but we suspected that it was another sail. Thanks for an enjoyable trip guys!
