Dolphins And Wahoos And Sails!

Sometimes, it’s just meant to be. We couldn’t make a wrong turn today, and I just love it when that happens!

We got a bit of a late start today, but dropped our lines in the right spot. Amanda caught a nice wahoo on the way offshore, and the bites were steady after that. We quit and hour early so my group would have time to get their fish cleaned and back to Nags Head, but we wound up landing six out of ten wahoo bites today, including a citation 40 pounder caught by Chip. We also had some sailfish action, with Chris and his dad Chip both catching one. We did catch a limit of dolphin too, and with the exception of two or three gaffers that we caught trolling, they all came from a float that I found. One stop shopping. To round out a mixed bag, we also boated a big king mackerel that was mixed in with the wahoos! It sure was a fun day! Thanks guys, and I’ll see you this fall for some tuna!
