We finished glassing the insulated drink boxes in the skiff this morning. The boxes are built out of 3/8" marine plywood and 3/4" foam. The top edge is made from mahogany to give it some beef, and the whole thing is wrapped in fiberglass. I made limber holes out of 1 1/2" PVC pipe to let water pass under the boxes and to the stern.
By Jonboy’s calculations each box should have the capacity of two cases of his choice of beverages …. for those extended day trips. This afternoon I plan on building the lids.
