1/13 Hatteras Offshore Fishing Report

So, I got a call last night from my buddy Jeff. He asked how fishing had been and said that he was interested in taking his son John out and looking for some kings. We agreed that the weather was gonna be about as nice as you could ask for, especially in January, so what did we have to loose!

The fog cleared up this morning and we shoved off and out on to a slick calm ocean. I headed out to the general area that we have had some commercial king fish action lately. We didn’t have live bait, but we fished with our live bait tackle and used ballyhoo for bait. We got on a nice place of fish and caught our limit of three per person (12 fish for today) by 10:30. Congratulations Jeff on a citation 40 pounder! Anyway, we jogged offshore with plenty of time to look around, and managed to land nine blackfins before quittin’ time. I’m sure that these guys will sleep good tonight! Thanks again Jeff. I’m looking forward to the next time!
