7/20 Hatteras Offshore Fishing Report

OK, so, I’m obligated to give honest fishing reports, even when things are not exactly optimal.

For starters, it was a pretty rough day. These guys have already been weathered out once this spring, so they weren’t taking no for an answer. It wasn’t un-fishable, but it blew southwest 25 all day. We found some decent conditions, and even found a couple pretty nice schools of dolphin, but they were not cooperative at all. We wound up with a half dozen bailers, one gaffer, one king mackerel and an oceanic bonito. The cool part was that in spite of the rough seas and slow fishing, I heard laughter all day out of these guys, so I think everybody had fun. We’ll kill ’em next time!
