Wahoos In The Morning, Blackfins In The Afternoon

With a slick calm forecast, I was a little surprised at the southeast swell we had to run in to this morning. Fortunately the wind stayed pretty calm and the day turned out to be really nice.

We started out in pretty good shape, two wahoos within the first hour of fishing. I knew my guys wanted some tuna, and the reports sounded like a good sign of blackfins to the east, so I trolled that way. Doing so committed me to that plan and nixed any thoughts of bottom fishing later in the day. Unfortunately things settled down and we only caught a couple of blackfins. Still, it was decent fishing for the boats that were there earlier. Happy Birthday Chris, and I look forward to seeing you back in the spring!
