I guess the "deep" can become a little contagious, knowing the possibilities of a "big bite" are there. We started out there and stayed most of the day.
It was slick calm, so the day was pretty enjoyable even if the fishing was a little scrappy. The fleet spread out and went in every direction this morning. I headed south and trolled way offshore. We only had three trolling bites, but caught all three of them. Two gaffer dolphin and a white marlin. We tried to make a couple of deep drops but the current was a little much. We did catch a couple of rosefish on one drop and a snowy grouper on the second. A couple of the boats scrapped out a catch of dolphin while one or two that headed east had some good blackfin tuna action. There were a few wahoo bites today as well.
