5/18 Hatteras Offshore Fishing Report

The wind fell out pretty for us today, and we had some variety in our catch!

I spent the first little bit of the morning looking for a tuna bite, since Mary said she wanted tuna, and felt lucky. It was extremely hard to keep baits clear of grass again today but wouldn’t you know it, we got hit and landed four yellowfins! The dolphin fishing was pretty good in and offshore, as well as up and down the line. I chose the deeper route and we managed to box a nice catch of big dolphin including Amy’s 30 pounder. Also while we were out there Randy caught and released a sailfish. This sail looked like he’d been in a bar room brawl with his top fin all chopped up, but he swam off perfectly. Another great day offshore. Thanks Lynn!
